SEO Training + Ohio TechCred
Are you interested in using Ohio’s TechCred program for SEO training?
The SEO Cohort is a live, virtual SEO training program for anyone looking to quickly and successfully build their SEO skills. Training will begin in early 2024.
Through the Ohio TechCred Program, employers who submit successful applications will be reimbursed for each employee who completes The SEO Cohort.

How Does It Work?
Save a Spot
Register with The SEO Cohort to save a spot in 2024 for each participant.
Apply for Funding
Apply for funding at TechCred.Ohio.Gov from November 1 – November 30, 2023.
Complete Registration
If your application is awarded, you’ll complete your registration for an SEO Cohort session in 2024.
Get Reimbursed
Submit a copy of the certificate (“credential”), an invoice from The SEO Cohort, and proof of payment to receive reimbursement.
INSTRUCTOR
Ryan Morgan
Ryan Morgan is a 15+ year digital marketing expert with a focus on SEO. He has led organizational and agency digital teams and has a history of driving growth for organizations using SEO.
Ryan currently operates a digital consultancy called swell. Ryan was formerly the Director, Brand + Digital Strategy at ignite, and the Vice President, Digital Marketing at Aztek, two leading agencies for digital marketing.
Prior to his agency work, Ryan spent nearly ten years at ERC, where he oversaw the organization’s marketing and digital strategy, as well as a team of high-performing marketers focused on SEO, content marketing, design, and email/automation.

Small group learning is ideal for organizations with 3 or more professionals looking to learn SEO together. The small group environment provides plenty of opportunities for teams to discuss and apply SEO strategies that directly align with their organization’s objectives and challenges.

How does it work?
- Save a Spot for each potential participant.
- Apply for funding at TechCred.Ohio.Gov from November 1 – November 30, 2023. View program guidelines here.
- The Ohio Department of Development will score applications and award funds.
- If your application is awarded, you’ll complete your registration and submit payment to The SEO Cohort. If you’re not awarded funds, you are under no obligation to complete your registration.
- Once employees successfully complete the program, they’ll receive a certification (also known as a “credential”).
- The organization will submit a copy of the certificate (“credential”), an invoice from The SEO Cohort, and proof of payment to receive reimbursement.
Who is eligible?
Any Ohio registered employer that employs Ohio resident W-2 employees is eligible to apply. Employers of all sizes and in all industries are encouraged to apply. Only one application will be accepted per employer per application period.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes! All students that complete the cohort will receive a SEO Certificate via PDF that can be shared with their current employer, added to social media profiles, and used as a badge of honor that they’re now an SEO pro.
Ryan uses every project and conversation as an opportunity for growth and coaching. No project was approached with a "just because" mentality but rather, explained in a way that connects the job at hand with the business case. I was always impressed to watch Ryan's ability to coach each of us in a personal way.
